A 5-minute energetic reboot for your nervous system

Last Saturday as I was trying to relax on Shabbat, it felt like the CNN news alerts on my phone were constant. For various reasons, many I’m sure you know of, it was a big breaking news day and most of the news coming through wasn’t great.

As I’ve moved through the week so far, the sense of feeling somewhat emotionally drained, energetically heavy, and more tired than usual has stayed with me.

And it’s also been a common theme for many clients and friends I’ve talked to.

When things feel heavy in the world at large, it can be easy to get dragged down by the weight of it all and forget how much good, beauty and blessings still exist and are present in our lives each and every day.

When this happens, one of the ways I find it helps the most to be able to tap back into those things that are good and light (and therefore also helps me to bring more of those into the world with my thoughts and actions) can be to practice self-care that protects my own energy while also replenishing it.

So this week I’ve been doubling down on those practices and wanted to share one with you today.

If you’ve been feeling:

  • Extra tired

  • A little off

  • Energetically heavy

  • Emotionally sad, frustrated or overwhelmed

  • Apathetic or unmotivated
