How to create your new year goals from a place of intuitive intention

Anyone else felt not ready to race headfirst into their New Year’s goals this week? Or even know exactly what they are yet?

If so, you’re in good company.

While January 1st may serve as the start of a new year, it arrives juxtaposed between the energy of increasing light each day and, as many of us are currently experiencing first hand, some of the most brutally cold and bitter weeks of the year. (Not to mention a very unexpected and stressful first week of the year globally.)

This can mean an inability to focus and decreased motivation, stamina and energy.

The opposite of “goal clarifying and accomplishing” vibes.

This year I decided to use this first week of the New Year as a transition week.

To not get swept up in the push to rush into the new year and instead let my intentions and theme of the year unfold slowly.

I’ve taken lots of time to journal and reflect and rest. And so far one word keeps coming up loud and clear: EMBRACE.

Embrace what?

For now it means...

Embrace rest
Embrace slowness
Embrace space
Embrace learning
Embrace movement
Embrace nourishment
Embrace internal guidance
Embrace trust
Embrace comfort
Embrace personal peace

If you want to embrace letting your goals unfold from a place of Intuitive Intention, I’m sharing the complete Intuitive Intention Creation Process that I’m using to set up my year from a place of alignment, ease and flow.

Intuitive Intention Creation Process

Use the following journal prompts to write down a list of as many answers as you can think of for each question.

  1. What were my glimmers from last year? (for an explanation on glimmers read the last post here.

  2. What am I most proud of from last year?

  3. What do I want to keep doing/do more of this year? (Use your answers from #1 and #2 as inspiration for your answers.)

  4. What do I want to do less of this year? (Again, use your answers from #1 and #2 as inspiration for your answers. What do you remember from last year that was not a part of your lists for #1 and #2?)

  5. What word encompasses the feeling or vibe of your answers to #3?

What came up for you? Feel free to share in the comments below!

Wishing you a very healthy and happy new year full of comfort and personal peace.
