How essential oils support your overall wellbeing
Our bodies always have a desire to heal and move in the direction of healing if we give them the right environment.”
What does it mean for our bodies to heal and how would we provide the “right“ environment for healing?
Studies have shown that our bodies are naturally regenerative meaning that they are constantly renewing and restoring themselves on a cellular level.
Our bodies really do function in many ways like a machine, and like any machine, dust, debris or any other type of toxin can slow down and hamper our body’s ability to function at optimal capacity.
But this isn’t about just detoxing and getting rid of the gunk.
The way I see it, creating a healing environment is a game of numbers.
Everything in this world is made up of atoms which vibrate. So scientifically we can measure the vibrational frequency of every single thing- from the chair you’re sitting on to the emotion you’re feeling to the food that you’re putting into your mouth.
You can probably relate to the concept that certain emotions feeling heavier, like grief, sadness, or loneliness.
These emotions vibrate at a lower frequency and is part of why they feel heavier. Visualize how you feel when experiencing these emotions.
What is your posture like?
Are you moving quickly or slowly?
Do you have a lot of energy or a little energy?
These emotions all bring about a vision of heaviness, lethargy, and inertia.
The frequency of emotions like grief is around 75MHz.
And if you visualize yourself when feeling emotions, like happiness, excitement, or joy, what do you visualize?
Chances, are these emotions, bring about a vision of lightness, alertness, and movement because these emotions are vibrating at a higher frequency.
The frequency of emotions like love is much higher around 500MHz.
It's why they feel so good while the other's feel so bad.
When it comes to our bodies, when we're healthy we’re often vibrating at a higher frequency range and when we’re unwell at a lower frequency range, as shown in the bottom right corner of the chart below.
So where the game begins is becoming aware of all the things in your day, and what frequency they’re vibrating at. You don’t even need to know the actual number, chances are you have an idea if it’s in a higher or lower range by how it feels to you.
For example, a packed subway car, full of people?
Generally a lower frequency.
Processed food verses fresh produce?
The process food has an incredibly low vibration while the fresh produce a higher vibration.
Spending time with a friend who makes you laugh or watching a funny show (Ted Lasso anyone?)
High frequency.
As you move about your day, begin to notice, are you experiencing more low-frequency things (that will in turn lower your own frequency) or more high frequency things (that will in turn raise your frequency)?
The more you surround yourself with higher frequency things, the higher your own frequency will be.
One of my favorite no-effort ways to increase my vibrational frequency is with essential oils.
Essential oils are distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, fruit, rinds, resins and herbs and the distillation process pulls out all of the natural healing properties that each unique species of plant created to keep itself alive and thriving, which we are being given access to through the essential oil.
This means the vibrational frequency of most essential oils is incredibly high.
For example, Rose oil, the highest frequency oil, vibrates at 320 MHz and a common oil, like lavender, vibrates at 118 MHz, which as you can see by the chart above, is multiple times higher than our overall frequency as humans and the frequency of our organs.
And one of my favorite thing about essential oils is that they work with and support the body on all levels: physical, energetic and emotional.
Here are my Top 5 Essential Oil Recommendations For Overall Wellness.
Eucalyptus: to support the respiratory system. I use this every morning on my chest as I tap my lung points.
Stress Away*: to support feelings of calm and relaxation and relieve stress. I use this every evening as part of my wind down routine. I’ll either diffuse it or put some on my fingertips and rub it into my temples to relax my nervous system.
Thieves*: to support immune function. I rub this on the soles of my feet every night before bed.
Lavender: to support relaxation and sleep. I use this every night when I get into bed, but in truth lavender has over 1000 potential uses, so this is just one example of many.
Deep Relief*: to support muscles and joints. This one comes in a roll-on, which I love, and I use it every morning on the back of my neck, where I often wake up with stiffness and tension. But I’ll also use it anywhere I feel achy or sore, like low back or sacrum.
